By Car:
• From Auckland: A drive from Auckland to Hastings takes approximately 6 hours.
• From Taupo: It’s a roughly 2.5-hour drive from Taupo, primarily via State Highway 5.
• From Napier: Hastings is a short 20-minute drive south of Napier on State Highway 2B.
• From Wellington: A drive from Wellington is about 4 hours, also via State Highway 2.
By Bus:
• InterCity buses: operate regularly from Auckland to Hastings, departing from the Sky City bus terminal and arriving in Hastings at 117 Russell Street.
• Buses from Napier to Hastings: are also available, including a direct route from Napier Airport.
• Other bus routes: Buses connect Hastings with other locations, such as Palmerston North, with transfers often required.

While Hastings does not have its own airport with commercial flights, Hawke’s Bay Airport in Napier is the closest major airport and is a short drive away.
• Bridge Pa Aerodrome:
Hastings also has a smaller aerodrome, Bridge Pa, with a runway capable of handling larger aircraft, though it doesn’t handle commercial flights.
